IIIT administration must conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate action: ABVP

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Prayag Mahanagar, expresses deep sorrow over the tragic and untimely demise of two students at IIIT Prayagraj. ABVP demands the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the incident thoroughly and take strict disciplinary and legal action against those responsible. The organization stands in solidarity with the protesting students and supports their legitimate demands. To foster a positive educational environment, ABVP urges the institute’s administration to establish a Mindfulness Center and a Counseling Center to help students cope with mental stress.

The lack of basic facilities at a premier educational institution like IIIT Prayagraj is both shocking and unacceptable. ABVP activists in Prayagraj demand that the institute administration ensure the availability of these essential services at the earliest. Additionally, the organization calls for the establishment of mental health counseling facilities and a dedicated helpline for students. In cases of emergencies, the administration must also make provisions for adequate medical assistance to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future. The sudden demise of two students is heartbreaking, and ABVP insists on an impartial investigation by a high-level committee to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and take strict action against those found responsible.

Sachin Singh Rajkumar, Mahanagar Secretary  of ABVP Prayag Mahanagar, emphasized the need for immediate administrative efforts to create stress-free academic environments in educational institutions and ensure medical facilities during emergencies. He further stated that all stakeholders must come together to build a healthy and positive academic atmosphere within campuses.
