University of Allahabad Announces Refund for Purchased Course Books for Economically Disadvantaged Students

Prayagraj, 28 March 2025: The Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the University of Allahabad has issued a notification regarding a refund opportunity for economically disadvantaged students who have purchased books related to their course subjects. This initiative aims to support students from low-income families and alleviate their financial burden.

"Poor candidates (whose family income is not more than two lakh) of UG & PG courses of University of Allahabad, seek refund of purchased book related to their course subject, may submit application form with the documents of photo copy of original receipt of purchased book, I-Card or fee receipt, Aadhar Card and Income Certificate by latest 15th April, 2025 (Tuesday) till 04.30PM at DSW Office."

No forms will be accepted after the above said date."

Eligibility Criteria

Students from both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses at the University of Allahabad are eligible for this refund if their family income does not exceed two lakh rupees per annum. The initiative is part of the university’s commitment to making education more accessible for students facing financial constraints.

Documents Required

Eligible students seeking a refund must submit the following documents:

  • Photocopy of the original receipt of the purchased book (GST invoice if available)
  • Photocopy of the I-Card (University Identity Card)
  • Photocopy of the fee receipt (Proof of fee payment for the academic session)
  • Photocopy of Aadhar Card (Identity verification)
  • Income Certificate (Issued by a competent authority to verify financial eligibility)

Submission Deadline and Procedure

Students must submit their application along with the required documents to the DSW Office by 15th April 2025 (Tuesday) before 4:30 PM. The university has explicitly mentioned that no applications will be accepted after the specified deadline.

Official Statement

Speaking about this initiative, Prof. Harsh Kumar, Dean of Students Welfare, stated, "This initiative is an effort to support students who face financial hardships in purchasing essential academic materials. We encourage all eligible students to apply before the deadline and take advantage of this support system."

"इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के यूजी और पीजी पाठ्यक्रमों के गरीब छात्र/छात्रायें, जो कोर्स से सम्बन्धित खरीदी गई पुस्तक का रिफंड चाहते हैं, वे उस पुस्तक की मूल रसीद (जी०एस०टी के साथ), आई-कार्ड या फीस रसीद, आधार कार्ड और आय प्रमाण पत्र के समस्त दस्तावेजों की फोटो कापी के साथ दिनांक 15 अप्रैल, 2025 (दिन मंगलवार) शाम 04.30 बजे तक डीएसडब्ल्यू कार्यालय में आवेदन पत्र जमा कर सकते हैं।

उपरोक्त समय के बाद किसी भी छात्र/छात्राओं का आवेदन स्वीकार नही किया जायेगा।
