NTA Declares Scores of the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2024 Examination

New Delhi, April 17, 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the scores for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2024 examination. The test, conducted for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programs, was held in computer-based mode across five subjects on February 28, March 1, and March 2, 2025.

Examination Conducted Across 164 Cities

The exam was conducted at 326 centers located in 164 cities throughout the country. As per the NTA notification, a total of 2,38,451 candidates registered for the exam, out of which 1,74,785 appeared. The subject-wise breakdown is as follows:

  • Mathematical Sciences: 43,446 registered; 30,562 appeared (Shift-1 on 28.02.2025)
  • Earth Science: 8,065 registered; 5,470 appeared (Shift-1 on 28.02.2025)
  • Chemical Sciences: 52,937 registered; 39,452 appeared (Shift-2 on 28.02.2025)
  • Life Sciences: 48,396 registered; 37,522 appeared (Shift-1 on 01.03.2025), and 48,262 registered; 34,487 appeared (Shift-2 on 01.03.2025)
  • Physical Science: 37,345 registered; 27,202 appeared (Shift-1 on 02.03.2025)

Answer Keys and Challenges

The provisional answer keys, question papers, and recorded responses were uploaded on the official website https://csirnet.nta.ac.in from March 11 to March 14, 2025. Candidates were invited to submit challenges to the provisional keys, which were then reviewed by subject experts. The finalized answer keys formed the basis of score calculation.

Score Cards Available Online

Candidates can now download their individual scorecards by logging in to the official CSIR-NET website using their application number and date of birth. No hard copy of the scorecard will be sent by post or email.

Clarification on Selection Process

The NTA has clarified that possessing a scorecard does not automatically entitle a candidate to selection. The eligibility criteria, self-declaration, and uploaded documents will be verified as per the norms mentioned in the information bulletin during subsequent stages.

Issuance of Certificates

The final result and eligibility certificates for qualified candidates will be issued by the NTA after the declaration of the result by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

About NTA’s Role

The NTA emphasized that its role is limited to conducting the entrance exam, declaring scores, and sharing the final data with CSIR. It holds no responsibility for the authenticity of the information/documents uploaded by candidates during application.
