About the Internship Opportunity
Since 2015, NITI Aayog has been running its Internship Scheme to engage young minds in policy-making processes. This program offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or research degrees in recognized institutions within India or abroad to gain firsthand experience in the functioning of the Government of India and contribute to policy inputs.

Duration of the Internship
The internship engagement period ranges from a minimum of six (6) weeks to a maximum of six (6) months, depending on the requirement of the division and the availability of the intern.

Eligibility Criteria
The internship is open to bonafide students from recognized universities/institutions fulfilling the following conditions:

• Undergraduate Students: Must have completed or appeared in term-end exams of the second year or fourth semester and secured at least 85% marks in Class 12.
• Postgraduate Students/Research Scholars: Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year or second semester and secured at least 70% marks in Graduation.
• Graduates/Postgraduates Awaiting Higher Studies: Candidates who have appeared in the final exam or just completed their UG/PG and are waiting for admission to higher studies may also apply, provided they secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all semesters/years. The time gap between the final result and the internship start should not exceed six months.

How to Apply
Interested applicants must apply online through the official NITI Aayog website by April 10, 2025. Applications can be submitted six months in advance, but no later than two months before the desired internship month.
Candidates must clearly specify their area of interest in the application.

Note: Only one application per financial year is allowed. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original mark sheets and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution at the time of joining. (NOC format available in Annexure ‘C’ of the official notification)
