Eligibility Criteria
Students currently pursuing degrees in the following disciplines from recognized institutions are eligible to apply:

- Social Sciences: Criminology, Sociology
- Engineering & IT:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science / Engineering
- Electronics & Communication
- Cyber Security / Information Security
- Cyber Forensics, AI, ML, Data Analytics
Applicants must be from top-ranking institutes, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, including:
- Top 200 Engineering Colleges
- Top 30 Law Institutes
- 165 Institutes of National Importance
Exposure and Field Visits
Interns will receive first-hand exposure to critical cybercrime agencies and infrastructure, including:
- National Cyber Forensics Laboratory (NCFL)
- National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)
- 1930 Call Centres and Control Rooms
- Other key cybercrime-related institutions
Through field visits and project work, students will gain practical knowledge and contribute to national-level cybercrime initiatives.
Intake and Duration
For the Summer Internship Programme (April–September 2025), the intake is limited to:
- 25 Undergraduate Students
- 15 Postgraduate Students
- 10 PhD Scholars
Internship Duration:
- UG and PG Students: 2 Months
- PhD Students: 4 Months
Selection Procedure
The selection process includes:
- Online Notification: Applications will be invited through the I4C’s official website.
- Submission Process: Applications must be submitted via post/email to the designated address mentioned in the official advertisement.
- Applications must be signed and forwarded by the HOD of the applicant’s institution.
- Evaluation:
- A Selection Committee will screen applications and prepare a list of shortlisted candidates.
- Final approval will be given by the competent authority at I4C.
Intern Responsibilities
Interns will be assigned to supervisors/mentors who are experts in their respective domains. Responsibilities include:
- Learning about I4C’s seven verticals
- Researching cybercrime trends and modus operandi
- Supporting awareness and technical initiatives
- Assisting with projects as assigned by I4C officials
Interns are expected to maintain daily attendance, follow official protocols, and ensure complete confidentiality. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is mandatory before beginning the internship.
Stipend Details
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend:
- Undergraduate Students: Rs. 6,000/-
- Postgraduate Students: Rs. 10,000/-
- PhD Scholars: Rs. 20,000/-
The stipend will be disbursed via Public Financial Management System (PFMS) after successful completion of the internship and approval of their project work.
Report Submission and Certification
Upon completion:
- Interns must submit a project report vetted by their supervisor.
- The report will be evaluated by a three-member committee consisting of senior officers.
- Interns must make a presentation on their project findings.
Certificates will be awarded after satisfactory evaluation and approval by the committee.
