The much-anticipated First Chaudhary Mahadeo National Moot Court Competition, 2025 has officially commenced in Prayagraj with immense enthusiasm and participation from law students across the country. The event is being hosted by the Law Department, CMP Degree College, Prayagraj, and aims to provide a platform for budding legal professionals to enhance their advocacy skills and legal acumen.
Grand Inauguration and Warm Welcome
The competition kicked off with an inaugural session in the presence of esteemed dignitaries and legal luminaries. Principal Prof. Ajay Prakash Khare extended a warm welcome to all the participating teams and expressed his appreciation for the initiative. He emphasized the significance of moot court competitions in sharpening critical thinking, research, and argumentative skills among law students.
The event is being conducted in collaboration with Anuj Tiwari Law Offices, Amikus Quraie, and Judiciary Gold, all of whom are actively contributing to the competition’s success. The inaugural session witnessed the presence of these partners, who play crucial roles in organizing and sponsoring the competition.
Structure of the Competition and Participation Details
The Preliminary Rounds (Rounds 1 & 2) of the competition were conducted on 3rd April 2025 in an online mode via Google Meet. Numerous law schools and universities from different parts of the country have sent their teams to compete, making the event truly national in character.
In these preliminary rounds, participants demonstrated their advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and ability to argue complex legal issues convincingly. The moot proposition, which forms the foundation of the competition, has been carefully drafted by Anuj Tiwari Law Offices, ensuring a challenging and intellectually stimulating legal problem for the participants.

The total prize money for the competition is approximately 1 lakh rupees, with Anuj Tiwari Law Offices generously sponsoring the prize money for the first winner. This substantial prize has added further motivation and competitiveness to the event, encouraging teams to give their best performances.

Mrs. Renu Singh, Co-ordinator of the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program, took the opportunity to introduce Prayagraj and CMP Degree College to the participants, as a majority of the teams hail from outside Prayagraj. She highlighted the rich legal and educational heritage of the city, emphasizing its deep-rooted connection with the legal fraternity of India.
She also elaborated on the historical significance of CMP Degree College, which has been instrumental in nurturing generations of legal professionals. The college, affiliated with the University of Allahabad, has consistently upheld its reputation as a center of excellence in legal studies. The presence of esteemed faculty, vibrant student participation, and rigorous academic training make it an ideal institution for aspiring lawyers.
Mrs. Renu Singh encouraged participants to make the most of the competition, interact with fellow legal enthusiasts, and gain invaluable experience from this national-level event. Her insights provided the visiting teams with a deeper understanding of the city's academic and cultural significance.

Miss Pratyaksha Tiwari, a sixth-semester student of the law department, took on the responsibility of anchoring the inaugural session. The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks, delivered by Mr. Himanshu Upadhyaya, a faculty member of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) at CMP Degree College. He expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, student volunteers, and participants for making the event a grand success. His words acknowledged the relentless efforts of the organizing team and partners in ensuring the smooth execution of the competition.
Teams Advancing to the Next Stage
After a rigorous and competitive preliminary round, eight teams have been shortlisted for the next stages of the competition. These teams will now compete in the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final Round, scheduled to take place on 13th April 2025. The upcoming rounds promise to be even more intense, as the best teams battle it out for the coveted title.
