Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Invites Applications for LLB Internship on Public Policy of Internet
New Delhi, April 18 – The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has opened applications for its internship programme, specifically targeting law students interested in public policy related to the Internet. The internship is designed to offer students a first-hand understanding of the Ministry’s work and contribute to the shaping of India’s digital future.
About the Ministry
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is entrusted with the responsibility of formulating, implementing, and reviewing national policies concerning Information Technology, Electronics, and Internet (excluding the licensing of Internet Service Providers). Its mission includes promoting e-Governance, empowering citizens, and encouraging inclusive and sustainable growth in the Electronics, IT, and ITeS industries across the nation.
Purpose of the Internship
The internship initiative is aimed at giving students practical exposure and real-time work experience under expert supervision. It encourages active participation and hands-on learning, allowing interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios. This step is part of MeitY's broader goal to enhance the implementation and monitoring of its various schemes and programmes through academic collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be Indian nationals
- Be enrolled in an LLB programme at a recognised Indian university
- Have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their most recently held degree or certificate examination
Duration of Internship
The internship will span a minimum of two months, with the possibility of extension up to three months. Extensions will be based on the intern’s performance, the Ministry's requirements, and the intern’s availability.
Location
Selected candidates will undertake their internship at the Ministry’s office in New Delhi, offering them direct exposure to the functioning of a central government ministry.
Stipend
Interns will receive a token stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month, which will be disbursed upon certification of satisfactory performance by their designated Supervisor or Mentor.
