AIBE XIX pass rate increased from 51% to 77%: RTI reply reveals



A Right to Information (RTI) response has revealed that 52,251 candidates failed to qualify the nineteenth edition of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE XIX).

A response to the RTI query filed by Advocate Balachander Reddy reveals that 2,36,403 candidates registered for the exam, which law graduates are required to clear in order to practice in courts across the nation.



The fail rate for this year's exam is 22.73%, a significant improvement on the 51.64% fail rate AIBE XVIII saw. AIBE XIX also saw many more candidates write the exam (2,29,843) compared to last year's number of 1,44,014.

For the General/OBC category, the passing mark is calculated at 45% of 93 marks, which rounds up to 42.

For the SC/ST/Disability category, the passing mark is calculated as 40% of 93 marks, which rounds up to 37.

The results of the AIBE XIX were declared on March 22, 2025.

With 7 questions withdrawn from the AIBE XIX, a notification stated that the result was based on 93 questions.
