RRB Group D Vacancy 2025: Last Date for Application, Correction Window, Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the last date for applications for the RRB Group D Vacancy 2025. Today, March 1, 2025, marks the final day for candidates to submit their applications. The recruitment process aims to fill 32,438 vacancies across various railway zones. The RRB Group D recruitment drive will fill multiple positions, including Assistant (S&T), Assistant (Workshop), Assistant Bridge, Assistant Carriage & Wagon, Assistant Loco Shed (Diesel & Electrical), Assistant Operations (Electrical), Assistant P-Way, Assistant TL & AC (Workshop & General), Assistant Track Machine, Assistant TRD, Pointsman B, and Track Maintainer Grade-IV.
Educational Qualification & Age Limit
To apply for the RRB Group D 2025 recruitment, candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or hold an ITI certificate from a recognized institution. The age limit for this recruitment is 18 to 36 years, with relaxation for OBC (3 years) and SC/ST (5 years). The age will be calculated as of January 1, 2025.
- General/EWS candidates: Born between January 2, 1989, and January 1, 2007
- OBC (NCL) candidates: Born between January 2, 1986, and January 1, 2007
- SC/ST candidates: Born between January 2, 1984, and January 1, 2007
As a one-time relaxation, candidates will get three years of upper age limit relaxation, considering past recruitment delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Candidates applying under SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories must ensure their certificates were issued before February 22, 2025. EWS applicants should have an EWS certificate for the 2024-25 financial year, issued between April 1, 2024, and February 22, 2025.
RRB Group D 2025 Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification & Medical Examination
Candidates who clear the CBT will be shortlisted for the PET round, followed by document verification and a medical fitness test.
RRB Group D 2025 Exam Pattern (CBT)
The CBT will be 90 minutes long, featuring 100 multiple-choice questions distributed as follows:
- General Science – 25 questions
- Mathematics – 25 questions
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 30 questions
- General Awareness & Current Affairs – 20 questions
Each incorrect answer will result in a 1/3rd negative marking. Additionally, normalization of marks will be applied for fairness.
Minimum Qualifying Marks for CBT
- General/EWS – 40%
- OBC (NCL)/SC/ST – 30%
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Criteria
For Male Candidates:
- Carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters within 2 minutes
- Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds
For Female Candidates:
- Carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters within 2 minutes
- Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes 40 seconds

Economic Backward Class (EBC) Category Clarification
The Economic Backward Class (EBC) category is different from OBC and EWS. Candidates from EBC must have:

- BPL Card / Izzat MST holder
- A certificate from a recognized government poverty alleviation scheme
However, EBC candidates do not get reservation benefits in posts, but they are eligible for fee concessions.
