The results of the Prayagraj District Advocate Association election have been announced, with Krishna Bihari Tiwari (K.B.) emerging as the newly elected President. Akhilesh Pandey secured the position of Treasurer, while the race for Secretary remained highly competitive until late at night, with Varun Kumar Singh ultimately winning. Devendra Mishra was elected as the Joint Secretary.
A total of 82 percent of the registered advocates exercised their voting rights. The election saw eight candidates vying for the President's position, 14 for the Secretary, and 14 for the Vice President. To ensure smooth and secure voting, paramilitary forces were deployed, and 25 CCTV cameras were installed for monitoring.
The election involved 6,085 registered voters, who voted for 120 candidates contesting for 19 positions, including President and Secretary. Election Officer Shitla Prasad Mishra informed that voting took place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Out of the total registered voters, 82 percent cast their votes, with 1,415 lifetime members and 4,670 general members. Five booths were designated for lifetime members and 20 for general members. The election was overseen by police and RAF personnel. Voter slips were distributed from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Association’s office.
