The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the application registration date to apply for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 to February 18. The deadline for registration for both the Civil Services (Preliminary)-2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary)-2025 examinations has been extended to February 18 at 6 pm.
Previously, the last date for online applications was February 11 at 6 pm. Candidates are required to apply online using the official website–upsc.gov.in.
Additionally, the correction window will be available for applicants from February 19 until February 25 allowing candidates to make necessary changes to their applications.
The UPSC notice did not provide specific reasons for the extension of the application deadline. However, as mentioned by the news agency, PTI, due to some technical issues experienced by some applicants, the Commission has extended the deadline.
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on May 25. Approximately 979 vacancies are expected to be filled through this examination, including 38 positions reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities.
The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages: preliminary, mains, and interview. This examination is used to select candidates for positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
