UP Board Issues Strict Guidelines to Prevent Cheating in 2025 Exams
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has introduced stringent measures to ensure a cheating-free and fair examination process for the 2025 High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board exams. With over 54 lakh students appearing for the exams across 8,140 centers, the UP Board has implemented strict surveillance, security measures, and new guidelines to maintain the integrity of the examination system.
Mandatory Roll Number on Every Answer Sheet Page
To prevent copy swapping and impersonation, the UP Board has made it mandatory for students to write their answer sheet serial number and roll number on every page of their answer booklet. This will help in identifying and verifying students' copies, ensuring no malpractice occurs.
Increased Surveillance & Deployment of Invigilators
The UP Board has strengthened its monitoring system to prevent any form of cheating or misconduct. The guidelines include:
- One invigilator for every 20 students
- Two invigilators for 40 students
- Three invigilators for 41 to 60 students
Apart from regular invigilators, the UP Board has assigned zonal, sector, and static magistrates to supervise the exams. These officials will be held personally accountable for ensuring a smooth and fair examination process.
Strict Monitoring of Sensitive and Highly Sensitive Centers
The UP Board has categorized certain districts and exam centers as sensitive and highly sensitive based on past instances of cheating and irregularities. These centers will be monitored by:
- Special Task Force (STF)
- Local Intelligence Unit (LIU)
- Local police authorities
Additionally, senior administrative officials, including District Magistrates (DMs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and Inspectors General (IGs), have been instructed to conduct surprise inspections.
Banning Unfair Means: No Maps, Drawings, or Extra Materials Allowed
To prevent any scope for unfair means, the UP Board has prohibited the presence of:
- Maps, diagrams, or drawings inside exam halls
- Extra sheets or chits brought by students
- Any unauthorized electronic devices

Crackdown on Bribery for Admit Cards
The UP Board has received complaints regarding students being asked for illegal payments to receive their admit cards. The Board Secretary, Bhagwati Singh, clarified that there is no provision for extra charges to appear in the exams or obtain admit cards. Strict legal action will be taken against any school found guilty of such malpractices.
Fuel Fund of ₹55 Lakh for Monitoring Vehicles
To ensure regular inspections by officials, the UP Board has allocated ₹55,29,500 for fuel expenses for monitoring vehicles. This fund will be used for:
- Flying squad vehicles
- District education department officers’ transport
- Emergency response teams during exams
Question Papers in Hindi & English
The UP Board has ensured that except for language subjects, all question papers will be available in both Hindi and English. This change was introduced after a High Court directive two years ago to help students from English-medium schools.
Official Instructions & Advisory for Students
The UP Board has advised students to only rely on official sources for exam-related updates. Students should follow:
- Official website: upmsp.edu.in

They are also urged to ignore fake news and rumors about the exams or results.
