Lalit Narayan Mithila University to Conduct Bihar B.Ed Entrance Exam 2025 Again

LNMU Darbhanga Retains Role as Nodal University for B.Ed Entrance Exam

Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga, has once again been designated as the nodal university for conducting the two-year B.Ed and Shiksha Shastri entrance examination for the 2025 session. The official order was received from Raj Bhavan, Patna, on Monday.

LNMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Chaudhary, expressed pride in the university’s consistent role in successfully organizing the state-level B.Ed entrance exam since 2020. He assured that the admission process would be conducted as per the guidelines and regulations set by Raj Bhavan. He also highlighted that in 2024, nearly 100% admissions were completed, and the university aims to maintain this standard.

Increase in the Number of B.Ed Colleges and Seats

This year, the number of B.Ed colleges in Bihar is expected to increase. In 2024, admissions were conducted across 336 colleges. However, with new colleges receiving recognition from universities, the number of institutions offering B.Ed courses will rise, leading to an increase in available seats.

Officials estimate that around 37,000 seats will be available for admission this year. However, the final seat count will be confirmed after all universities provide their respective seat numbers. Following this, the application process for the entrance exam will commence.

Growing Interest in B.Ed Courses in Bihar

The B.Ed course in Bihar has gained significant popularity in recent years, primarily due to the increasing number of job opportunities available after completing the program. In 2024, over two lakh students applied for the entrance exam, reflecting the growing demand for this professional course. With more students opting for B.Ed, the competition for admission is also expected to be intense.

Exam Pattern: 120 Questions from Five Subjects

The Bihar B.Ed Common Entrance Test (CET-B.Ed) consists of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from five subjects. Each question carries one mark, making the total score 120.

The subject-wise distribution of questions is as follows:

  • General English – 15 questions
  • General Hindi – 15 questions
  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning – 25 questions
  • Teaching-Learning Environment in Schools – 25 questions
  • General Awareness – 40 questions

The exam follows a negative marking system, meaning marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

Implementation of NCTE's One-Year B.Ed Program

In a significant policy shift, the Central Government has approved the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regulation to introduce a one-year B.Ed program for postgraduate students. This move is expected to further boost the demand for B.Ed courses across the state.

With LNMU leading the entrance exam process for the fifth consecutive year, aspiring candidates can expect a smooth and structured admission procedure in the upcoming 2025 session.
