The University of Allahabad
The University of Allahabad, often hailed as the "Oxford of the East," is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious institutions. Established on 23rd September 1887 through Act XVIII, its foundation was laid by Sir William Muir, the then Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces.
In 1921, the Muir Central College was integrated into the university following the promulgation of the University of Allahabad Act. The university was recognized as a 'premier institution' by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1992, regained its Central University status in 2005, and was declared an Institution of National Importance.

The Moot Court Society
