Trilegal’s 4th NALSAR-CCI Antitrust Moot Court Competition 2025 Announced

The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Trilegal, has officially launched the 4th NALSAR-CCI Antitrust Moot Court Competition, 2025. Recognized as one of the premier law schools in India, NALSAR has consistently provided a platform for fostering legal acumen and research, and this year’s moot promises to uphold its legacy of excellence.


About the Competition

This edition of the moot court competition aims to set a benchmark for debates and scholarship in Competition and Antitrust Law, bringing together budding legal minds from across the nation. The event is expected to offer participants an unparalleled opportunity to engage with emerging issues in competition law under the guidance of CCI and Trilegal, one of India’s top-tier law firms.

Eligibility

The competition welcomes participation from:

Students enrolled in LL.B. degree courses (3 years or 5 years) or postgraduate LL.M. programs from any Bar Council of India-recognized institution.

Open/cross-institutional/mixed teams.

Multiple teams from the same institution.

Participants competing independently of their institutional identity.



Team Composition and Registration

Teams must consist of either:

Two members (both speakers), or

Three members (two speakers and one researcher).


The registration fee is INR 7,500 per team, which includes accommodation during the competition rounds. No additional fees will be charged later.

Registration Opens: December 20, 2024

Release of Moot Proposition: January 10, 2025

Deadline for Clarifications: January 20, 2025

Release of Clarifications: February 2, 2025

Registration Deadline: February 10, 2025

Memorial Submission Deadline: February 11, 2025

Memorial Elimination Results: March 10, 2025

Oral Rounds: March 21–23, 2025

Prizes and Recognition

Participants stand to win prestigious awards, trophies, cash prizes, and internship opportunities with Trilegal. The detailed prize structure includes:

1. Winning Team: Trophy, INR 1,00,000, SCC Online Web Edition subscriptions (one-year), and an internship opportunity at Trilegal.

2. Runners-Up Team: Trophy, INR 50,000, and an internship at Trilegal.

3. Best Speaker: Trophy and INR 10,000.

4. Best Researcher: Trophy, INR 7,500, and an internship at Trilegal.

5. Best Speaker in Finals: Trophy and INR 7,500.

6. Best Memorandum (Informant and Opposite Party): Trophy and INR 12,500 each.


All participants will receive certificates of participation or merit, depending on their performance.
