National Testing Agency Issues Public Notice



The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced significant changes to the question paper pattern and examination duration for the upcoming NEET UG 2025. As per the public notice issued on January 25, 2025, the examination will return to the pre-COVID format, eliminating the Section B component and reinstating a total of 180 compulsory questions.

Question Paper Pattern Details

For NEET UG 2025, the question paper will consist of 180 compulsory questions, divided as follows:


Physics: 45 questions


Chemistry: 45 questions


Biology: 90 questions


The optional Section B questions, which were introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide flexibility, will no longer be available. Candidates are required to attempt all 180 questions within the given time frame.

Examination Duration

The examination duration for NEET UG 2025 will also revert to the pre-pandemic standard of 180 minutes (3 hours). The additional time, which had been introduced temporarily during the pandemic, has been removed.

एनडीए ने प्रश्न पत्र पैटर्न और परीक्षा अवधि को कोविड-19 महामारी से पहले के प्रारूप में करने में फैसला लिया है। अब प्रश्न पत्र में कोई सेक्शन बी नहीं होगा। कल प्रश्न 180 होंगे और सभी अनिवार्य होंगे। इसमें भौतिक और रसायन विज्ञान में 45-45 प्रश्न और जैविक विज्ञान में 90 प्रश्न शामिल होंगे। जिसे हल करने के लिए उम्मीदवारों को 180 मिनट का समय दिया जाएगा।

No Optional Questions: The provision for optional questions, introduced as a temporary measure during COVID-19, is now discontinued.


Standard Duration: Candidates will have a total of 180 minutes to complete the paper.
