PhD Eligibility Test-2024 to Follow Old Ordinance

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University (DDU) has announced a significant update regarding its PhD admissions for 2024. The university will conduct the PhD Eligibility Test-2024 (RET) under its old ordinance. This means that candidates who have not qualified for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will still be eligible to appear for the entrance examination. This is expected to be the last chance for non-NET-qualified candidates to pursue a PhD at DDU before new UGC regulations come into full effect.

PhD Admission Process Running One Year Behind Schedule

The PhD admission process at DDU is currently running almost a year behind schedule. However, this delay has turned into an advantage for aspiring research scholars. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced several changes in the PhD admission process, making NET qualification mandatory for future applicants. Once these regulations are implemented, only NET-qualified candidates will be eligible to apply for the Research Eligibility Test (RET) required for PhD admissions.

Online Applications to Begin in February 2024

According to Professor Harsh Sinha, Director of the Admission Cell at DDU, online applications for PhD admissions will commence in February 2024, likely in the first week of the month. The Research Eligibility Test (RET) is expected to be conducted in March 2024. Candidates seeking admission to PhD programs should start preparing as the process is nearing its final stages.

Around 1000 PhD Seats Available for Admission

This year, DDU will offer admission to nearly 1,000 PhD seats across various disciplines, providing a great opportunity for aspirants. The seat matrix has been nearly finalized, but modifications are being made due to the reservation of 10% supernumerary seats for teachers from government and grant-in-aid colleges. Once this adjustment is completed, the final seat matrix will be published.

Final Preparations Underway for RET-2024

The university is in the final stages of preparation for the PhD Eligibility Test-2024. With applications opening in February and the exam scheduled for March, interested candidates should stay updated with official announcements and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.

This is a crucial opportunity for PhD aspirants, especially those who have not cleared the NET exam. Since future admissions will follow the new UGC guidelines, this might be the last chance to secure a PhD seat at DDU without NET qualification. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as the application window opens.

DDU: बिना नेट पीएचडी करने का अंतिम मौका

दीनदयाल उपाध्याय गोरखपुर विश्वविद्यालय से पीएचडी में प्रवेश को लेकर अहम खबर है। DDU में पुराने अध्यादेश के आधार पर ही शोध पात्रता परीक्षा- 2024 का आयोजन होगा। यानी जिन अभ्यर्थियों ने यूजीसी की राष्ट्रीय पात्रता परीक्षा (नेट) क्वालीफाई नहीं किया है, वे भी इस परीक्षा में शामिल हो सकेंगे। बिना नेट उत्तीर्ण हुए पीएचडी करने का यह अंतिम मौका होगा।

DDU में पीएचडी में पीएचडी की प्रवेश प्रक्रिया करीब एक साल पीछे चल रही है। इसका लाभ पीएचडी की चाह रखने वाले अभ्यर्थियों को मिलेगा। यूजीसी ने पीएचडी में प्रवेश को लेकर तमाम बदलाव किए हैं। उन बदलावों के लागू होने के बाद जो अभ्यर्थी नेट क्वालीफाई किए होंगे, वे ही ‘रेट’ के आवेदन के लिए अर्ह होंगे।

DDU एडमिशन सेल के निदेशक प्रो. हर्ष सिन्हा ने बताया कि पीएचडी में प्रवेश के लिए शोध पात्रता परीक्षा-2024 के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन फरवरी में शुरू होंगे। संभावना है कि फरवरी के पहले हफ्ते से ही आवेदन प्रक्रिया शुरू हो जाए। मार्च में शोध पात्रता परीक्षा कराने की योजना है।

करीब 1000 सीटों पर होगा प्रवेश पीएचडी की करीब 1000 सीटों पर प्रवेश लिया जाएगा। यानी पीएचडी में प्रवेश का अभ्यर्थियों के पास अच्छा मौका होगा। बताते हैं कि सीट मैट्रिक्स करीब तैयार कर ली गई थी लेकिन राजकीय व अनुदानित महाविद्यालयों के शिक्षकों के लिए 10 प्रतिशत सीटें सुपरन्यूमेरिक कोटे से निर्धारित किए जाने के बाद नए सिरे से सीट मैट्रिक्स तैयार की जा रही है।

शोध पात्रता परीक्षा-2024 को लेकर तैयारियां करीब अंतिम चरण में हैं। पीएचडी की विभिन्न की करीब एक हजार सीटों पर इस वर्ष प्रवेश लिया जाएगा। इसका सीट मैट्रिक्स तैयार किया जा रहा है। फरवरी में आवेदन की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो जाएगी।
