Major Changes in CUET UG 2025
UGC has announced several changes in CUET UG 2025 exam. Candidates can check the changes below.
- Reduction in Subjects: The total number of subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37. This includes 23 domain subjects and 13 languages.
- Computer-Based Testing Only: The exam will be conducted exclusively in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, moving away from the hybrid format used previously.
- Subject Selection Flexibility: Candidates can now select up to five subjects, down from six. They can choose subjects even if they were not part of their Class 12 curriculum, promoting interdisciplinary options.
- Uniform Exam Duration: Each subject will have a uniform duration of 60 minutes, and all questions will be compulsory.
- General Aptitude Test (GAT): Admissions for the subjects that have been removed will rely on scores from the General Aptitude Test.

Academic Qualifications
Completion of Class 12: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or be appearing for it in 2025 from a recognized board in any stream.
Minimum Marks:
- For General category candidates: A minimum of 50% marks in Class 12.
- For SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates: A minimum of 45% marks in Class 12.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for the CUET 2025 exam. Candidates of any age can apply, but they must fulfill the educational qualifications.
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens or fall under specific categories such as citizens of Nepal and Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived before January 1, 1962, and certain other nationalities who have permanently settled in India.

Step 1 Registration
There are four major details that candidates need to fill out during CUET 2025 Registration. The details are given below.
- Personal Details: Eligible and interested candidates need to add their personal details such as Name, Father/Mother/Guardian’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender & Nationality, and Identity Type and Valid ID number.
- Present Address: In this section, candidates need to enter their present address wherever they currently living, from the house number to the pin code. They may also need to enter their contact details.
- Permanent Address: If candidates have a different address where their family members reside, they need to add that address details. Otherwise, they can choose the ‘Same as Present Address’ checkbox.
- Password and Security PIN: At the last of Step 1 CUET 2025 Registration process, candidates are required to generate a password and security PIN for their account.
Step 2 Form Fill Up
After completing step 1 of CUET 2025 Registration, candidates need to log in to their account and start filling out CUET Application Form 2025 by providing the below-mentioned details
