IP University Admissions 2025: UG, PG, and PhD Applications Open from February 1, CUET Only for Vacant Seats
IP University Adds 3-Year LLB to Its Law Offerings; CLAT UG Mandatory
Admission Process Begins on February 1
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), also known as IP University, is set to begin its admission process for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD programs from February 1, 2025. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma made this announcement during a press conference held on Tuesday. He stated that the entrance exams for various courses will be conducted between April 26 and May 18, with the admission process concluding by August 14.
Notably, 85% of the total seats in IP University are reserved for students from Delhi. In a significant step, the university has increased its financial support for economically weaker section (EWS) students from ₹2.5 crore to ₹3.5 crore.
Additionally, IP University will now conduct PhD admissions twice a year, offering greater flexibility for research aspirants.
Expansion of Programs and Additional Seats
This year, the university has added approximately 250 new seats across various programs on campus, following the addition of 1,600 seats last year. The online application process will be available for:
46 master’s degree programs
40 PhD programs
34 undergraduate degree programs
For 20 undergraduate and 18 postgraduate programs, admissions will be granted through CUET (Common University Entrance Test) but only for vacant seats.
New Features in the Admission Process
1. Application and Counseling Fee Combined
For the first time, IP University will collect the application fee and counseling fee together. Candidates will be required to pay ₹2,500 at the time of application submission.
2. Single Girl Child Quota Introduced
A single girl child quota has been introduced for the first time. One seat in every course will be reserved for a single girl child.
3. Sports Quota Implemented
The university has introduced a sports quota, under which 2% of seats in each course will be reserved for students excelling in sports.

IP University Introduces 3-Year LLB Program
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has introduced a 3-year LLB program starting from the 2025 academic session. Admissions for this new course, along with other UG, PG, and PhD programs, will commence on February 1, 2025. The university will conduct entrance exams between April 26 and May 18, with the admission process concluding by August 14. The CLAT UG score will be considered for admission to the LLB program, aligning it with national law entrance standards.
New Admission Policies and Reservation Quotas
In addition to the LLB course, IP University has introduced a single girl child quota and a 2% sports quota across all programs. The university has also revised the admission criteria for several courses, incorporating CET, CUET, and merit-based selection for different programs. Counseling for LLB admissions via CLAT UG will begin in May 2025, ensuring a streamlined admission process for aspiring law students.
Counseling to Begin in May and June
Online counseling for MBA (via CAT), LLB, and LLM (via CLAT UG/PG) will begin in May.
For other programs, both online and offline counseling will start from June 2, 2025.
The university will conduct admissions through multiple national-level entrance exams, including:
JEE Mains, NEET UG/PG/SS, CAT, CMAT, NIMCET, CLAT-UG/PG, UCEED, and NATA.
Special Admission Provisions for Selected Courses
IP University has revised the admission criteria for various courses:
BSc Nursing (Post Basic): Earlier, admission was solely through the Common Entrance Test (CET). This year, interviews and academic merit will also be considered.
Dual Degree BSc-MSc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics): Previously based on JEE Mains and CUET; now, CET and academic merit will also be included.
MS in Packaging Technology: Previously admitted through CET and CUET; now, candidates with GATE, UGC-NET, and CSIR-NET scores are also eligible.
BS in Packaging Technology: Earlier based on CET and CUET; now, JEE Advanced, JEE Mains, and NEET scores are also considered.
M.Tech in Food Processing Technology: Previously based on GATE and CET; now, academic merit is also included.
M.Tech in Biotechnology: Previously based on GATE and CET; now, academic merit is also considered.
BSc in Environmental Science: Earlier, admissions were based on CUET and academic merit; now, CET is also an option.
MSc in Environmental Management: Previously based on CUET and academic merit; now, CET is also considered.
IP University’s International Expansion: First Campus Outside India in Guyana
IP University is planning to set up a campus outside India in Guyana. The Guyanese government has approached the university, offering land and other necessary facilities for establishing the campus.
This would make IP University the first Delhi-based university to open a campus abroad. However, the proposal still requires No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Central Government and Delhi Government before it can proceed.
With its expansion of academic programs, new admission policies, and international initiatives, IP University is poised to offer enhanced opportunities for students in 2025.

गुरु गोबिंद सिंह इंद्रप्रस्थ विश्वविद्यालय (जीजीएसIPU) से संबद्ध कॉलेजों में स्नातक, स्रातकोत्तर और पीएचडी पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश प्रक्रिया एक फरवरी से शुरू होने जा रही है। इसकी घोषणा कुलपति प्रो. महेश वर्मा ने मंगलवार को आयोजित एक प्रेसवार्ता में की। उन्होंने कहा कि 26 अप्रैल से 18 मई तक प्रवेश परीक्षा आयोजित की जाएगी और 14 अगस्त तक समाप्त हो जाएगी। ज्ञात हो कि यहां 85 फीसदी सीटें दिल्ली के छात्रों के लिए आरक्षित हैं। ईडब्ल्यूएस छात्रों के लिए विश्वविद्यालय विभिन्न मदों में 2.5 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करता है, इसे बढ़ाकर अब 3.5 करोड़ किया जा रहा है। यही नहीं वर्ष में दो बार पीएचडी के लिए दाखिला होगा।
कुलपति ने कहा कि इस वर्ष विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों में लगभग 250 अतिरिक्त सीटें जोड़ी गई हैं, जबकि पिछले वर्ष 1600 नई सीटें जोड़ी गई थीं। मास्टर डिग्री के 46 स्ट्रीम, 40 पीएचडी और स्नातक डिग्री कार्यक्रमों की 34 विषयों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्रक्रिया होगी।
केवल खाली सीटों के लिए 20 स्नातक डिग्री कार्यक्रमों और 18 स्नातकोत्तर डिग्री कार्यक्रमों में सीयूईटी ( CUET ) के माध्यम से प्रवेश दिया जाएगा।
इस बार क्या नया
पहली बार विश्वविद्यालय आवेदन की फीस और काउंसलिंग की फीस एक साथ लेगा। आवेदन के समय अभ्यर्थी को अब 2500 रुपये जमा करने होंगे।
पहली बार हर कोर्स में सिंगल गर्ल चाइल्ड कोटा शुरू किया है। हर कोर्स में एक सीट इसके लिए आरक्षित होगी।
स्पोर्ट्स कोटा भी शुरू किया है। इसके तहत हर कोर्स में दो फीसदी सीट आरक्षित होगी।

मई और जून में शुरू हो जाएगी कांउसलिंग एमबीए (सीएटी के माध्यम से), एलएलबी और एलएलएम (सीएलएटी यूजी पीजी के माध्यम से) के लिए ऑनलाइन काउंसलिंग मई से शुरू होगी। अन्य कार्यक्रमों के लिए ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन काउंसलिंग 2 जून से शुरू होगी। विभिन्न प्रवेश मोड में शामिल हैं-जेईई मेन्स, नीट यूजी, पीजी और एसएस, कैट, सीएमएटी, निम्सेट, क्लैट-यूजी और पीजी, यूसीडी, नाटा आदि के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय स्तर की परीक्षाएं।

एमएस पैकेजिंग टेक्नोलॉजी: पहले केवल सीईटी और सीयूईटी थे। इस साल जीएटीई, यूजीसी-नेट, सीएसआईआर-नेट भी शामिल किए गए हैं।
बीएस पैकेजिंग टेक्नोलॉजी: पहले केवल सीईटी और सीयूईटी थे। इस साल जेईई एडवांस्ड, जेईई मेन्स, नीट भी शामिल किए गए हैं।
एम.टेक. (फूड प्रोसेसिंग टेक्नोलॉजी): पहले केवल जीएटीई और सीईटी थे। अब योग्यता परीक्षा का मेरिट भी शामिल किया गया है।

देश से बाहर कैंपस बनाने की तैयारी में IPU
IPU देश के बाहर गुयाना में अपना कैंपस बनाने की तैयारी कर रहा है। गुयाना सरकार ने IPU से इस बाबत संपर्क किया है। उन्होंने वहां जमीन देने से लेकर बाकी सुविधाएं देने की बात कही है। यह दिल्ली की पहली यूनिवर्सिटी है, जिसका कैंपस देश से बाहर खुलने जा रहा है। हालांकि कुलपति ने कहा कि इसके लिए अभी केंद्र सरकार और दिल्ली सरकार से अनापत्ति प्रमाणपत्र लेना है।
