BHU PhD : बीएचयू में पीएचडी दाखिले की प्रक्रिया बदलेगी, आगे बढ़ेंगी तारीखें

BHU में पीएचडी प्रवेश प्रक्रिया के कैलेंडर में आने वाले दिनों में परिवर्तन किए जाएंगे। विश्वविद्यालय की तरफ से सभी संकायों के लिए प्रवेश आवेदन तिथि चार दिन बढ़ाई गई थी जबकि आवेदनों की संख्या कम होने के कारण कृषि विज्ञान संकाय के लिए आवेदन तिथि बढ़ाकर तीन फरवरी कर दी गई है। ऐसे में प्रपत्रों की जांच, साक्षात्कार सहित आगे आने वाली प्रक्रियाओं के लिए जल्द नई तिथि जारी की जाएगी।

छह जनवरी को BHU ने पीएचडी प्रवेश नोटिफिकेशन जारी किया था। हालांकि नियमावली से नाखुश छात्रों ने इसके बाद धरना प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिया था। छह दिन धरना, पुतला दहन और विरोध जारी रहने के बाद कार्यवाहक कुलपति प्रो. संजय कुमार और वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने छात्रों से बातचीत कर बीच का रास्ता निकालने की पहल की। छात्रों की मांग पर BHU ने प्रवेश नियमावली में संशोधन कर रेट के अंतर्गत एक सीट पर सभी अभ्यर्थियों को बुलावा भेजने के साथ ही अन्य मांगें मान ली। छात्रों के लिए प्रवेश आवेदन तिथि भी चार दिन बढ़ाई गई। पुराने नोटिफिकेशन के अनुसार प्रपत्रों की जांच और साक्षात्कार के लिए 27 जनवरी से 12 फरवरी, परिणाम की घोषणा और प्रवेश 15 फरवरी से 6 मार्च और विभाग में रिपोर्टिंग के लिए 17 मार्च की तिथि तय की गई थी।

हालांकि साक्षात्कार शुरू होने की तिथि तक प्रवेश प्रक्रिया जारी रहने और एक संकाय की प्रवेश प्रक्रिया तीन फरवरी तक बढ़ने के कारण पीएचडी प्रवेश संबंधी अन्य कार्यों की रफ्तार सुस्त पड़ गई है।

परीक्षा विभाग के अधिकारियों की मानें तो दो दिन के भीतर साक्षात्कार और प्रपत्रों की जांच, परिणाम और प्रवेश को लेकर नई तिथियां जारी की जाएंगी। लक्ष्य मार्च तक प्रवेश संबंधी कार्य पूरे कर लेने का है।

दस हजार से ज्यादा छात्रों ने कराया पंजीकरण

यूजीसी के निर्देशानुसार BHU में पीएचडी प्रवेश के लिए एनटीए से कराई गई नेट परीक्षा में अर्ह छात्रों को ही मौका दिया जा रहा है। एनटीए से मिली अर्ह छात्रों की सूची के बाद BHU में कुल 10,584 छात्रों ने पंजीकरण कराया है। पंजीकरण के साथ ही छात्रों को ऑनलाइन शुल्क भी जमा कराना था। अब तक लगभग सात हजार छात्रों ने शुल्क भी जमा करा दिया है। माना जा रहा है फीस न जमा करने वाले अभ्यर्थी वह हैं जिन्होंने एक से ज्यादा विषयों के लिए आवेदन किया है। 

BHU PhD Admission Schedule Likely to be Revised Again

Application Deadline Extended Due to Low Enrollment in Agriculture Faculty

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is expected to make further changes to its PhD admission schedule in the coming days. The university had previously extended the application deadline for all faculties by four days. However, due to a lower number of applications in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, the university has now extended the application deadline for this faculty until February 3, 2025.

As a result of these changes, new dates for document verification, interviews, and subsequent admission procedures will be announced soon.

Initial Notification and Student Protests Led to Changes

BHU released the PhD admission notification on January 6, 2025. However, many students expressed dissatisfaction with the admission guidelines and began a protest. Their demonstration, which lasted for six days, included sit-ins, effigy burnings, and other forms of protest.

In response, Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kumar and senior university officials engaged with the protesting students to find a middle ground. After discussions, BHU agreed to amend the admission rules. One of the key changes was that all eligible candidates under the Research Entrance Test (RET) category would now receive interview invitations for a single seat, addressing a major concern raised by the students. Additionally, the university extended the application deadline by four days.

Previous Admission Schedule Now Affected

The original notification had set the following key dates for PhD admissions:

Document verification & interviews: January 27 – February 12, 2025

Result declaration & admissions: February 15 – March 6, 2025

Departmental reporting: March 17, 2025

However, since the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences has received an extension until February 3, 2025, and the application process is still ongoing in some faculties, other phases of the admission process have slowed down.

New Dates to Be Announced Soon

Officials from the university’s examination department have stated that within the next two days, a revised schedule for interviews, document verification, result declaration, and admissions will be announced. The university still aims to complete the PhD admission process by March 2025.

Over 10,000 Students Registered for PhD Admissions

As per the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, BHU is admitting only those candidates who qualified through the National Testing Agency (NTA)-conducted NET exam. After receiving the list of eligible candidates from NTA, BHU recorded a total of 10,584 student registrations for PhD admissions.

Additionally, applicants were required to submit an online application fee along with their registration. So far, approximately 7,000 candidates have paid the required fees. University officials speculate that those who have not yet paid may have applied for multiple subjects and are waiting to finalize their choices before making the payment.

With the admission process still in flux, BHU is working on adjusting its schedule to accommodate the recent changes. The university remains committed to completing the PhD admission process on time, despite delays caused by student protests and extensions in application deadlines. Applicants are advised to keep a close watch on official announcements for the revised schedule.
