BHU Ph.D. Admission 2024: Important Changes in Interview Criteria and Extended Deadline for Faculty of Agriculture

Varanasi, January 30, 2025 – Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has issued a corrigendum revising the procedure for calling applicants for Ph.D. interviews as per the Ph.D. Admission Bulletin 2024. The modification, outlined in Table-5, affects both RET-Exempted and RET candidates.

Revised Interview Procedure for Ph.D. Applicants

According to the new guidelines, candidates will be called for interviews based on the following criteria:

1. RET-Exempted Candidates:

All JRF-qualified candidates will be directly called for the interview process.

2. RET Candidates:

Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR NET (June 2024) or the ICAR JRF/SRF Examination 2024 and are eligible under the RET mode will be invited for the interview.



Correction in Ph.D. Information Bulletin 2024

Additionally, an amendment has been made to Clause A1(b) on Page No.07 of the Ph.D. Information Bulletin 2024. The term "ASRB Exam 2024" has now been corrected to "ICAR – JRF/SRF Score 2024" wherever it appears in the document.

Extended Deadline for Ph.D. Admission Portal for Faculty of Agriculture

In light of these changes, the university has announced an extension of the online application deadline for candidates applying under the RET mode in the Faculty of Agriculture. The admission portal will now remain open until February 3, 2025, to allow eligible candidates to complete their applications.

This revision ensures clarity in the admission process and provides additional opportunities for students aspiring to pursue doctoral studies at BHU. Candidates are advised to check the official website for further details and updates.
