UGC Extends Deadline for HEIs to Apply for Recognition to Offer ODL and Online Programs
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced an extension for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to submit their applications for recognition to offer programs in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online mode for the 2024-25 academic year, with sessions beginning in February 2025. The new deadline for online application submission has been extended to 10th November 2024.
Background and Reason for Extension
This extension follows multiple representations from HEIs requesting additional time to complete their applications for ODL and Online programs. The decision was made to facilitate the application process for institutions seeking to expand their educational offerings in remote and online learning formats.
Important Dates and Submission Details
Online Submission Deadline: HEIs can submit their applications on the UGC’s DEB (Distance Education Bureau) Portal until 10th November 2024.
Hard Copy Submission: After online submission, institutions must send a hard copy of the original affidavit and undertaking to the UGC’s office by 25th November 2024.
All additional instructions and requirements are available on the UGC DEB portal. This extension provides HEIs with an extended window to prepare and complete necessary documentation to participate in UGC-recognized remote learning programs for the upcoming academic session.
For further details, HEIs are encouraged to visit the UGC DEB website at deb.ugc.ac.in.
