Two-Day Autism Therapy Workshop Concludes at Allahabad University: Key Insights Shared by Experts

Workshop Organized by CBCS and ACDC Centers Focuses on Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration

The two-day workshop jointly organized by the Center for Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS) and the Allahabad Child Development Center (ACDC) concluded on Sunday at Allahabad University. The workshop aimed to provide insights into effective therapeutic techniques for children with autism.

Expert Session by Dr. R.S. Bagga on Autism Therapy

On the second day, Dr. R.S. Bagga, an occupational therapist from the Therapy for Ability Center in Delhi, conducted an insightful session covering various critical aspects of autism therapy. Dr. Bagga discussed when and how to initiate therapy for children with autism, along with the practical application of the Jean Ayres Sensory Pyramid Model. He also shed light on enhancing motor skills and visual-motor integration.

Learning Active and Passive Therapy Techniques

Participants gained knowledge of different techniques related to both passive and active therapy through hands-on demonstrations. The workshop emphasized the importance of early intervention and provided strategies for parents and therapists to support children with autism.

Dr. Bagga addressed several queries from parents, offering guidance on common challenges faced by children with autism, such as establishing eye contact, managing sensory sensitivities, and improving motor skills.
