Hostel Allotment for Postgraduate Students in Allahabad University: Tarachand Hostel Allotment on Hold Until Renovation is Finished
Hostel list published while Tarachand Hostel undergoes repairs
Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh – The allotment of the Tarachand Hostel, historically reserved for postgraduate students at Allahabad University, is currently delayed due to ongoing repairs. According to university administration officials, the Tarachand Hostel is undergoing renovation work, and hostel rooms will be allocated to students only after the completion of these essential repairs.
In the interim, the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW) office has published a list of around 170 students selected for hostel accommodations in other available facilities.
This list has been divided across six hostels, with three hostels designated for male students—PCB, Diamond Jubilee, and G.N. Jha Hostels—
and three for female students—Hall of Residence (HOR), Sarojini Naidu, and Shatabdi Girls Hostels.
The DSW office has displayed the names of the selected students on the notice board for each respective hostel. Selected students are advised to promptly contact their allotted hostel for admission-related formalities.
University authorities have assured students of expedited efforts to complete the renovation at Tarachand Hostel, aiming to soon reintroduce it as an option for postgraduate students. Meanwhile, the DSW office will continue to manage alternative accommodations to ensure that all eligible students receive the necessary housing facilities for their studies.

इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में परास्नातक छात्रों के लिए ताराचंद छात्रावास आवंटित होता था पर जर्जर होने के कारण मरम्मत कराई जा रही है। इविवि प्रशासन का कहना है कि ताराचंद छात्रावास की मरम्मत का काम चल रहा है और इसके पूरा होने के बाद ही कमरे आवंटित होंगे।
उधर डीएसडब्लयू कार्यालय ने करीब 170 विद्यार्थियों की सूची जारी कर दी है।
यह छह हॉस्टलों के लिए सूची जारी की गई है। इसमें तीन ब्वॉयज हॉस्टल (पीसीबी, डायमंड जुबिली व जीएन झा) और तीन गर्ल्स हॉस्टल (हॉल आफ रेजिडेंस ‘एचओआर, सरोजिनी नायडू और शताब्दी गर्ल्स) के लिए चयनित विद्यार्थियों की सूची डीएसडब्लयू कार्यालय के नोटिस बोर्ड पर चस्पा कर दिया गया है।
