Gujarat University (GU) has extended the registration last date for PhD courses admission for session 2024-25 at the official website. The Gujarat University PhD admission last date 2024 has been extended till November 10, 2024, for GCAS registered students. Interested and eligible students can visit the official website gujaratuniversity.ac.in to fill the application form online. However, the direct online application link is active at gcas.gujgoc.edu.in. 

Gujarat University (GU) has extended the registration deadlines for PhD admissions through both Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) and Samarth portals. Students can now register on GCAS until Nov 10, while Samarth portal registrations and fee payments will continue until Nov 12.

Students applying for Gujarat University 2024 PhD admission must check the below-mentioned guidelines before filling the application form: 

Candidates are recommended to contact the concerned Subject Department at Gujarat University in case of subject-related queries.

Candidates applying for PhD in multi/inter/intra disciplinary subject has to qualify entrance examination for each subject in which he/she wants to be admitted in Ph.D.

Students have to check the subject-wise eligibility list as mentioned on the website.

 Candidate has to present a Hall Ticket and his/her valid Photo Identity card at the time of examination.

Gujarat University PhD admission 2024: Examination Guidelines

The following pointers shall be kept in mind before appearing for the entrance examination:

All questions are MCQs with a total of 100 questions (1-50 - Research Methodology/General Analytical Skill/Mental Ability/Reasoning & English Communication, 51-100 Subject-specific).

There is no negative Marking in the entrance examination.

Candidate must return back the OMR (Answer Sheet) and Question/Test Booklet before leaving the examination hall.

No students will be allowed to take the Question/Test Booklet with them after the examination in any circumstances.

GU Extends Deadline for PhD Admissions

 Gujarat University (GU) has extended the registration deadlines for PhD admissions through both Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) and Samarth portals. Students can now register on GCAS until Nov 10, while Samarth portal registrations and fee payments will continue until Nov 12. As of Saturday, 2,672 students registered on GCAS, with about 1,680 completing registration on both platforms.

This academic year marks the first instance where all state universities are conducting PhD admissions through GCAS, despite initial opposition from some institutions. The education department has maintained that GCAS-based admissions are mandatory. Gujarat University requires students to register additionally on the Samarth portal as it conducts its own entrance examination.

The GCAS registration deadline was extended thrice so far. The latest extension aims to accommodate about 900 students who registered only on GCAS, providing them additional time to complete their Samarth portal registration.
