About the Opportunity

Legislative Department, Ministry of Law & Justice invites applications for the engagement of 16 (sixteen) Young Professionals on a contract basis for a period of one year to provide professional services in specific areas of law as per the requirements of this Department. The selection process, educational qualifications, experience, and age limit required for the position are as follows.

 

Eligibility

Essential:

LLB Degree (First Class) from any recognized University. The degree should be completed on or before 01.04.2024.

Desirable:

Candidates with LLM and additional qualifications, research experience, published papers, and post-qualification experience in the relevant field will be preferred.

Experience: 2 Years.

Age Limit: Not more than 32 years as of 01.01.2024.

 

selection process

Step 1: Publication of Advertisement on the website and in at least one newspaper (both Hindi and English), Employment News/Rozgar Samachar, as applicable.

Step 2: Screening of applications based on Educational Qualifications, Experience in the research field, post-qualification experience, and any other proficiency desirable for the post.

Step 3: Written examination (subjective questions) for shortlisted candidates, with merit-based ranking and selection. The candidates will be tested on: (i) Constitution of India, (ii) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, (iii) Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, (iv) Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, (v) Indian Contract Act, (vi) Code of Civil Procedure, (vii) Administrative Law, (viii) Legislative Drafting.

Step 4: Evaluation of shortlisted applications by a committee consisting of:

Additional Secretary (Chairman)

Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel (Member)

Deputy Legislative Counsel (Member)

The Evaluation Committee may devise its own method for selecting suitable candidates as per the requirement.

 

Remuneration

Rs. 60,000/- per month.
