Internship Program Overview

The Upscale_ Legal internship program is designed to provide interns with practical exposure to the legal field, allowing them to develop key skills while contributing to meaningful cases. The program includes both physical and virtual positions, with one physical and one virtual slot available for November, and two virtual slots available for December. The program is structured to operate from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.

This internship provides a supportive environment where interns can refine their skills in legal writing, critical thinking, and research. With the physical location based at the firm’s office at GD ITL Tower, Netaji Subhash Place, New Delhi, interns will have access to a professional setting that fosters learning and growth.

Internship Structure and Requirements

Duration and Working Hours

The internship spans the months of November and December 2024. For November, Upscale_ Legal seeks one intern for an on-site role and another for a virtual role. In December, the firm is looking to fill two virtual internship positions. Regardless of the role, all interns are expected to work six days a week, from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Stipend

The internship positions are unpaid, providing law students the opportunity to focus on skill development and hands-on learning in a supportive environment without the pressures associated with salaried positions.

Intern Responsibilities

Interns at Upscale_ Legal will have a range of responsibilities designed to immerse them in various aspects of legal practice. These responsibilities include:

- Assisting attorneys with research, document review, and case preparation.

- Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases.

- Drafting memos, briefs, and various other legal documents.

- Participating in client meetings and observing court proceedings.

- Contributing to firm projects and initiatives, enhancing their understanding of firm operations.

Eligibility Criteria

Upscale_ Legal is looking for law students currently enrolled in JD or LLB programs, who possess a strong academic record and proficient research skills. The program is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, motivated, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment. Prospective candidates should also demonstrate strong communication and teamwork abilities, as they will be collaborating closely with experienced attorneys and fellow interns.

Technical Proficiency  

Candidates are expected to have a good command of Microsoft Office and legal research software, as these tools are essential for effective legal analysis and document preparation.
