Rajarshi Tandon Open University Begins PhD Admission Process For 2024-25

Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) on Tuesday started the PhD admission process for the session 2024-25. The admission criteria for the new session have been released by Vice-Chancellor Professor Satyakam. As per the regulations and instructions issued from time to time by the University Grants Commission, online application for admission to PhD has started from October 1.

Professor PK Pandey, convener of the PhD entrance examination committee, shared in a recent media interaction that to appear in the pre-PhD entrance examination, candidates can register online and deposit the entrance examination fee online through the university website. The last date for online registration, application, and submission of the entrance examination fee has been fixed as October 26. Applications can be made from October 27 to November 6 with a late fee. He said that the error correction period in the online application details has been fixed from November 7 to 12. Admit cards for the entrance examination will be uploaded on the university website on November 18.

The proposed date of the entrance exam is November 23. Professor Pandey further said that this time the university will give admission through the entrance exam in 40 seats in 14 subjects: computer science, nutrition, food and dietetics, journalism and mass communication, commerce, medieval and modern history, business administration and business management, pedagogy, Sanskrit and Prakrit language, statistics, Hindi and modern Indian languages, geography, ancient Indian history and archaeology, mathematics, and zoology.

Last year, the university launched a dual degree program for its students as per the new UGC rules. Now, students can study for two degrees simultaneously by taking admission here.

Earlier, the institution had permitted diploma courses in addition to degrees, but for the first time, it will grant two full-time degree courses at the same time.

The two full-time degree programs were introduced at the UG and PG levels by the rules, which will be discussed at a conference.
