About Chandigarh Law College

Event Overview
The Chandigarh Law College (CLC), in association with Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, Mohali proudly announces the Second National Moot Court Competition, set to take place from 8th-9th November 2024]. Building on the success of the first edition, this competition promises to offer a dynamic platform for law students to showcase their research, oratory, and argumentative skills in front of a distinguished panel of judges.
This year’s moot problem addresses contemporary legal issues that are of national significance, designed to test the participants’ knowledge in constitutional law, criminal law, and procedural law. The hypothetical case, carefully curated by legal experts, provides students with a challenging scenario where they must balance legal precedent, legislative interpretation, and the intricacies of judicial reasoning.
Competition Structure
The moot competition will follow a comprehensive three-tier structure:
Preliminary Rounds: All participating teams will argue in two rounds each, once as petitioners and once as respondents.
Quarterfinals and Semifinals: Top-scoring teams from the preliminaries will move on to argue more nuanced aspects of the case.
Final Round: The two best teams will compete for the prestigious title in the final round, judged by an eminent panel comprising sitting judges and senior advocates.
DATE: The Competition shal be held on 8 -9 NOVEMBER 2024.
Eligibility
Al students currently enrolled ni three-year or five-year law courses are eligible to participate in the competition.

Runner-Up Team: ₹21,000
Best Memorial: ₹7,000
Best Mooter: ₹7,000

Registration Procedure
Teams interested in participating can register through the Google Form & Scanning the QR or contact the event organizers for further details. The competition is open to all law students enrolled in undergraduate programs across India, and the registration fee is Rs 3500/- per team Accommodation – 2500 Per Team for 2days
