Nalanda Open University to Start PG Admission for 2024-25 from October 16


UG Courses Await Approval, Application Link Open Until November 15

Patna, October 15: After a gap of two years, Nalanda Open University (NOU) is set to begin admissions for the academic session 2024-25. The admission process will commence on October 16, with students able to apply online until November 15. According to university officials, the notification for admissions has been released today, and the application link will remain active until midnight on the closing date.

PG Admissions Approved for 15 Courses

NOU had requested permission for 30 postgraduate courses but has received approval for admissions in 15 PG programs for the current session. These courses include disciplines such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, Economics, Psychology, and more.

The list of approved PG courses is as follows:

1. Chemistry

2. Environmental Science

3. Mathematics

4. Botany

5. Physics

6. Economics

7. Home Science

8. Hindi

9. Psychology

10. Education

11. Geography

12. Public Administration

13. Commerce (M.Com)

UG Admissions Await UGC Approval

As of now, NOU has not received approval for undergraduate courses. A delegation from the university will revisit the University Grants Commission (UGC) soon to seek permission for UG programs. Once approved, admissions for undergraduate courses will also commence.

Vice Chancellor’s Statement

NOU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, confirmed that the admission process for PG courses will begin on October 16. He assured that efforts are underway to secure approval for UG courses, and the university will announce admissions for those as soon as approval is granted.

This development marks a significant step for NOU, which had been unable to offer admissions for the past two years. Interested students are encouraged to apply early to secure their place in one of Bihar’s leading open universities.
