LLM and PhD Admissions at RPNLU: A New Era for Legal Education Begins

Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU) will begin offering LLM and PhD programs from the academic session 2025-26. After the introduction of the BA LLB program, students will now have the opportunity to pursue advanced studies with the LLM and PhD programs at the university. The admission process for 10 seats in LLM and 3 seats in PhD has already commenced.

RPNLU to Launch LLM Program; CLAT Required for Admission

For LLM admissions, students will be required to clear the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national-level exam for law school admissions. Meanwhile, PhD admissions will be conducted internally by the university.

Fee Structure for LLM Program

RPNLU has announced the fee structure for the two-year LLM program, which will cost a total of ₹4.41 lakhs. The breakdown includes an annual admission fee of ₹12,000, amounting to ₹24,000 for the entire program. The tuition fee is set at ₹1.40 lakhs per year, adding up to ₹2.80 lakhs over two years. Additionally, students will be required to pay ₹30,000 per semester as extra charges, totaling ₹1.20 lakhs for four semesters. A refundable security deposit of ₹17,000 will also be collected.

Temporary Campus at Faizabad Road

The university, located in Jhansi, is currently constructing its permanent campus at Jhalwa, which will take some time to complete. In the interim, classes for BA LLB have begun with 60 seats at the BBS Engineering College campus in Faizabad Road. The same temporary arrangement will apply to the new LLM and PhD programs until the new campus is ready.
