Science Park at Allahabad University to Popularize Physics Through Stone Engravings

The Department of Physics at Allahabad University is developing a unique Science Park aimed at unraveling the mysteries of science through stone carvings. The park is designed to promote the understanding of science among school students and enhance its popularity, making it a significant initiative for young learners.

The Science Park features stone pathways, with stones meticulously carved to showcase world-class inventions, important instruments, and astronomical phenomena discovered at the university. The project is being led by Prof. K.N. Uttam, Head of the Department of Physics. He explains that all the notable inventions made at the university, which hold global importance, have been etched onto the stones.

One of the key highlights of the park is the 1927 high-temperature furnace developed by renowned scientist Prof. Meghnad Saha, which is still housed in the department’s laboratory. This furnace was used to capture the spectrum of the Sun for the first time in history, allowing scientists to identify the elements present in the Sun. This groundbreaking discovery laid the foundation for ongoing research in the field, with its modern extension being the Aditya-L1 mission, launched to study the Sun's elements and activities.

The Science Park will serve as a resource for new university entrants and school students, helping them to understand the significant contributions of Allahabad University to the scientific community. Prof. Saha's work demonstrated how research and teaching can address societal problems, and his efforts in popularizing science are well-recognized.

The park aims to provide an engaging learning environment where students can explore the world of science while strolling through the exhibits. The stones, engraved with scientific achievements spanning the past 100 years, will narrate the stories of groundbreaking research conducted at the Physics Department of Allahabad University.

1. इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय (इविवि) के भौतिक विज्ञान विभाग में एक विशेष साइंस पार्क तैयार किया जा रहा है, जिसका उद्देश्य पत्थरों के माध्यम से विज्ञान के गूढ़ रहस्यों को समझाना है।

2. इस पार्क का मुख्य उद्देश्य स्कूली छात्र-छात्राओं के बीच विज्ञान को लोकप्रिय बनाना है, जिससे विज्ञान की पढ़ाई उनके लिए आसान और रुचिकर हो सके।

3. पार्क में चारों ओर पत्थरों की पटरी बनाई जा रही है, जिन पर विश्वस्तरीय अविष्कारों, महत्वपूर्ण उपकरणों और खगोलीय घटनाओं को उकेरा जा रहा है।

4. इस परियोजना का नेतृत्व भौतिक विज्ञान विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो. केएन उत्तम कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि पत्थरों पर उन अविष्कारों को उकेरा गया है, जिनका विश्वविद्यालय में निर्माण हुआ और जिनका वैश्विक महत्व है।

5. पार्क की प्रमुख विशेषताओं में से एक है प्रो. मेघनाद साहा द्वारा 1927 में तैयार की गई उच्चताप भट्टी, जो आज भी विभाग की प्रयोगशाला में मौजूद है। इस भट्टी का उपयोग दुनिया में पहली बार सूर्य का स्पेक्ट्रम लेने के लिए किया गया था।

6. इस खोज के परिणामस्वरूप सूर्य में उपस्थित तत्वों का पता लगाया गया, और इसी दिशा में लगातार शोध होते रहे, जिनका नवीनतम रूप आदित्य एल-1 है। यह मिशन सूर्य की तत्वीय संरचना और गतिविधियों का अध्ययन करने के लिए भेजा गया है।

7. विश्वविद्यालय के नए प्रवेशी छात्रों और स्कूली विद्यार्थियों के लिए यह पार्क विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में इविवि की भागीदारी को समझने का एक जरिया होगा।

8. प्रो. साहा ने दुनिया को यह बताया कि विज्ञान का उपयोग शोध और अध्यापन के साथ-साथ समाज की समस्याओं को हल करने के लिए भी किया जा सकता है।

9. साइंस पार्क की स्थापना का मुख्य उद्देश्य विज्ञान को सरल और लोकप्रिय बनाना है, ताकि विद्यार्थी चलते-फिरते ही विज्ञान की दुनिया को समझ सकें।

10. पार्क में लगे पत्थरों के माध्यम से पिछले 100 वर्षों में विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा किए गए विश्वस्तरीय शोधों की सफलता की कहानियां प्रस्तुत की जाएंगी।
