13th Gender Certificate Course Inaugurated at Allahabad University's Women's Studies Center

Focus on Interdisciplinary Approach and Emerging Research Trends

Prayagraj – The inaugural session of the 13th Gender Certificate Course was held at Allahabad University’s Women’s Studies Center on Monday. The event was graced by the chief guest, Professor Sarvjeet Mukherjee, who elaborated on the interdisciplinary importance of the certificate course. He highlighted how the course touches upon several contemporary research dimensions, emphasizing its wide relevance in current times.

During his address, Professor Mukherjee pointed out the growing significance of research areas like Pink Feminism, which connects nationalism with women's movements, and Eco-Feminism, which links environmental issues with feminist discourse. He stressed that these areas of study are gaining prominence in academic circles due to their societal relevance.

Professor Jaya Kapoor also addressed the attendees, stating that the true value of the course lies in incorporating gender discourse into the research topics chosen by participants, thereby enhancing their social utility and meaningfulness.
