Supreme Court of India Internship Opportunity with Justice K.V. Viswanathan (November 2024 - May 2025)

The office of Justice K.V. These internships will take place on a rolling basis between November 2024 and May 2025, with each internship lasting one month. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this coveted internship opportunity, applicants must be:

- Undergraduate law students in their 2nd year or above in a 3-year program, or 3rd year or above in a 5-year program.

- Postgraduate law students are also encouraged to apply.

This internship is designed to provide law students with an immersive and enriching experience, offering direct exposure to courtroom proceedings, legal research, and case analysis.

Selection Process

Once applications are submitted, shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, which will be conducted either telephonically or virtually. The final confirmation of selected candidates will be communicated 2-4 weeks prior to the start of the internship.

Orientation and Internship Responsibilities

At the beginning of the internship, selected interns will participate in an orientation session to familiarize themselves with the office’s procedures, tools, and protocols. This will include access to templates and detailed guidelines to help interns perform their tasks effectively.

During the internship, participants will undertake a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Preparation of briefs summarizing case facts, legal arguments, and relevant case law.

- In-depth legal research and drafting of memos and legal opinions.

- Attendance at court proceedings and internal meetings, with a responsibility to take comprehensive minutes.

Interns will also be entrusted with tasks that require the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Given the nature of the work, they will be expected to handle all information with discretion and maintain a professional demeanor that reflects the integrity and standards of the Supreme Court.
