Key Responsibilities

As an IP Lawyer - Associate at Selvam & Selvam, the successful candidate will be responsible for several critical tasks, including but not limited to:

1. Managing and overseeing IP prosecution portfolios: The selected associate will manage the IP portfolios of various clients, providing comprehensive support and ensuring that their intellectual property rights are properly registered, maintained, and defended.

2. Providing expert legal advice: This role demands proficiency in offering legal guidance on a range of IP issues, including trademarks, copyrights, designs, and domain disputes. The associate will need to counsel clients on strategies to protect and enforce their IP rights both domestically and internationally.

3. Conducting thorough legal research: The associate will engage in in-depth legal research and analysis to support clients’ cases, ensuring they are informed of the latest developments in IP law and how they might affect their portfolios.

4. Drafting legal documents: A significant part of the job will include drafting legal documents, such as trademark applications, oppositions, responses, and settlement agreements, ensuring that all legal submissions are meticulously prepared and timely.

5. Developing legal strategies: In collaboration with other team members and clients, the associate will help devise and implement effective legal strategies to safeguard and enhance the value of clients' intellectual property.
