About the Internship
They are currently looking for enthusiastic students to assist with ongoing research projects focused on how the legal system responds to identity-based violence. As an intern, you will play a key role in supporting these efforts, working with a team of professionals dedicated to bringing about systemic change.
- Number of Positions Available: 2-3 interns at any given time
- Internship Duration: Minimum of 1 month (flexibility around academic schedules)
- Locations: offices in New Delhi and Patna
- For the Patna office, in-person internships are preferred due to the nature of fieldwork.
- Remote or hybrid internships will be considered for the Delhi office and on a case-by-case basis.
In recognition of your contributions, selected interns will receive a modest honorarium of up to ₹5,000. Additionally, your work will be acknowledged in any academic publications that arise from the research project.
Who Should Apply?
This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in law, sociology, governance, or social work from Indian educational institutions. However, organization encourage applications from students in other disciplines with a strong interest in human rights, legal systems, and social justice.
Key Qualifications:
Strong research and writing skills
Familiarity with legal systems and public databases
Knowledge of at least one Indian language is an asset
Roles and Responsibilities
As an intern, you will be closely involved in the day-to-day tasks of research and advocacy efforts. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Conducting legal research
Drafting and filing Right to Information (RTI) applications
Compiling and organizing responses from state departments
Writing articles for both internal and external publications
Your work will contribute directly to organization's projects that address pressing issues around identity-based violence and systemic injustice.
