IGNOU July Admissions 2024 Application Deadline Extended Till September 20



The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for both fresh admissions and re-registration for the July 2024 session. The new deadline is September 20. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the courses by visiting the university’s official websites at ignouadmissions.samarth.edu.in or online.ignou.ac.in.

This extension applies to all programmes offered in Online Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, except for semester-based and certificate courses. This marks the second extension granted by the university, with the previous deadline being September 10.



“Extension of last date for July 2024 Fresh Admission till 20th September 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for July 2024 session (except for semester-based and Certificate programmes)," IGNOU wrote on X.

IGNOU July Admissions 2024: Documents required

When applying for online or open and distance learning programmes, candidates must scan and upload the below-mentioned documents:

— Scanned passport-size photograph

— Scanned copy of signature

— Educational qualifications certificates

— Category certificate (if any)

IGNOU July Admissions 2024: Eligibility Criteria

— Undergraduate (UG) Admissions: Students must have passed class 12 with at least 50 per cent marks from a recognized educational board.

— Postgraduate (PG) Courses: Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks.

— Diploma and Certificate Courses: Candidates must have completed class 12 from a recognised board.

— Admission Process: Admissions will be based on the merit list for all courses, except PhD, B.Ed. and PBScN programmes.

IGNOU July Admissions 2024: How to Apply?

Step 1: Log on to the official website of the IGNOU at ignouadmissions.samarth.edu.in.

Step 2: On the webpage, locate the ‘July Admissions 2024’ tab and click on it.

Step 3: You will then be redirected to a new page featuring online and ODL programme links.

Step 4: Select your preferred programme and proceed to fill out the application form.

Step 5: Enter all the required details in the application form and scan and submit the documents.

Step 6: Deposit the prescribed application fee, and you’re done.

Step 7: Save a copy of the application form and print a hard copy of it for future reference.

Additionally, the university has started registrations for the December 2024 Term-End Examination (TEE). Students enrolled in ODL and online programmes can submit their forms on the official website, exam.ignou.ac, by October 15, 2024, to avoid late fees.
