ABVP Campaign Intensifies for DUSU Elections

DUSU elections are the first step in democracy; DU’s youth should come forward to vote: Rishabh Chaudhary

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has ramped up its campaign for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections with presidential candidate Rishabh Chaudhary, vice-presidential candidate Bhanu Pratap Singh, secretary candidate Mitravinda Karnwal, and joint secretary candidate Aman Kapasiya leading the charge. The ABVP campaign team, split into two groups, is covering 52 colleges and departments of Delhi University, with over 5,000 ABVP members actively participating in the promotion of their agenda among students. Bhanu Pratap Singh, the ABVP candidate for the vice-president post, along with joint secretary candidate Aman Kapasiya, conducted their campaign at Khalsa College, Kirori Mal College, Ramjas College, Hansraj College, Hindu College, and all three Law Faculty campuses (Campus Law Centre, Law Centre-1, and Law Centre-2). Meanwhile, presidential candidate Rishabh Chaudhary and secretary candidate Mitravinda Karnwal campaigned at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Dyal Singh College, Shivaji College, Aurobindo College and College of Vocational Studies, engaging with students and presenting ABVP’s key issues while seeking their support.

ABVP’s years-long activism in the campus has garnered substantial student support. The issues highlighted in the ABVP's manifesto reflect the real concerns of students. Initiatives like the operation of U-Buses, efforts to strengthen women’s security, approval for new hostel constructions, and internship programs for skill development led by the ABVP-led DUSU have earned the trust of students. This confidence is once again visible in this year’s DUSU elections.

Rishabh Chaudhary, ABVP’s presidential candidate, remarked that the Delhi University Students’ Union election is akin to a celebration of democracy for the students. “During today's campaign, I urged students to participate in the democratic process and shared our key issues with them. I also collected feedback through class campaigns and encouraged them to cast their votes in the election. I am confident that, based on issues like infrastructure improvement, campus safety, women empowerment, and building a better DU, the students will choose the entire ABVP panel.”
