2nd Dr. Patangrao Kadam Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2024 Announced by Bharati Vidyapeeth: Register by September 25

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Institute of Management and Research (BVIMR), New Delhi, is organizing the 2nd Dr. Patangrao Kadam Memorial National Moot Court Competition in 2024. The competition, hosted by the Moot Court Society of the Department of Law, BVIMR, aims to provide an enriching experience for law students across the country, enhancing their legal skills and courtroom decorum. The event focuses on improving participants' proficiency in legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy.

About Bharati Vidyapeeth and the Moot Court Competition

Bharati Vidyapeeth, established in 1992, is a reputed educational institution that strives to impart knowledge and foster values across various disciplines. BVIMR in New Delhi offers various programs, including B.B.A. LLB and LLB, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence and holistic development. The moot court competition was named in honor of Dr. Patangrao Kadam, the founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth, and seeks to uphold the institution's legacy of nurturing talent and intellectual growth.

The competition will test participants' knowledge and understanding of several key areas of law, including the Juvenile Justice Act, Indian Penal Code, 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act. Teams will be required to analyze a moot proposition based on these statutes and other related laws, encouraging them to explore diverse legal dimensions beyond the given theme.

Eligibility Criteria and Team Composition

The competition is open to law students enrolled in either a three-year LLB program or a five-year BALLB course at institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India. Each team can consist of two or three members, where two members will act as speakers, and in the case of a three-member team, one will serve as the researcher. However, for teams with only two members, both must act as speakers, and no member can be designated solely as a researcher. Importantly, multiple teams from a single institution are allowed to participate, fostering healthy competition and collaboration within law schools.

Registration Process and Fee

The registration process for the moot competition involves two steps. First, teams must pay a registration fee of INR 3,000 through NEFT. After completing the payment, teams must proceed to the second step, which involves filling out a Google Form and attaching the payment receipt. Only after completing both stages will teams be officially registered for the competition.

The last date to register for the event is September 25, 2024, and participants are urged to register early to secure their spot in the competition.
