University of Allahabad Declares Raksha Bandhan as a Local Holiday

Prayagraj, August 16, 2024: The University of Allahabad has issued a corrigendum announcing that the Raksha Bandhan holiday, previously listed as a restricted holiday for August 19, 2024, has now been upgraded to a local holiday. The earlier order (no. 2868) dated November 24, 2023, has been amended accordingly.

Holiday Upgrade: The University of Allahabad has upgraded the Raksha Bandhan holiday on August 19, 2024, from a restricted holiday to a local holiday.

Amended Order: This change amends the previous order (no. 2868) dated November 24, 2023, reflecting the university’s recognition of the cultural importance of the festival.

This decision has been approved by the Competent Authority and communicated by the Registrar of the university. The notice emphasizes that all relevant university offices, departments, and constituent colleges should be informed of the change. 

Copies of the order have been circulated to deans, department heads, administrative officers, and other key personnel for prompt action.

This amendment aims to recognize the cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan for students and staff across the campus.
