University of Allahabad Announces CRET 2024 for PhD Admissions; 2,337 Registrations 1 August, 8 Pm– Apply by August 12

The University of Allahabad has officially announced the commencement of the Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) 2024 for Ph.D. admissions. This year, the CRET will be conducted for 47 subjects, offering a total of 1182 seats. Of these, 764 seats are available in University Departments/Centres, and 418 seats are in Constituent Colleges of the University. The CRET 2024 will be conducted offline in Prayagraj, providing a crucial opportunity for aspiring Ph.D. candidates.

Online registration and form submission for CRET 2024 will start on July 19, 2024. The deadline for registration, fee payment, and form submission is August 12, 2024. All candidates, including NET/JRF candidates, are required to appear for both Level-1 and Level-2 examinations, with specific exemptions applicable to certain categories.

Teacher candidates from the University of Allahabad and its Constituent Colleges, Army Officers, and International candidates are exempted from the CRET Level-1 Test but must appear in the Level-2 Test. International candidates seeking admission should contact the University's International Student's Advisor and do not need to apply online.

The Level-I examination will consist of two papers. Paper I will have 50 objective-type questions, divided equally between Research Methodology and subject-specific questions. Each question will be worth 2 marks, and there will be no negative marking. Paper II will be subjective, including small, medium, and long-type questions. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the combined marks for both papers are 300.

The application fees for CRET 2024 are Rs. 1800 for Unreserved/OBC/EWS candidates and Rs. 900 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
