Prof. Rakesh Singh Reappointed as Chief Proctor of Allahabad University

Prof. Rakesh Singh again became Chief Proctor

Allahabad: Prof. Rakesh Singh from the Hindi Department of Allahabad University has been reappointed as the Chief Proctor. Registrar Prof. NK Shukla issued a notification regarding the appointment on Thursday. Prof. Singh’s reinstatement follows an incident in February 2024 when students staged a protest and created a disturbance at the Proctor’s Office, alleging that an MA student was assaulted. 

In response to the unrest, the university administration had appointed Prof. KN Uttam from the Physics Department as Chief Proctor on February 13, replacing Prof. Singh. Prof. Uttam has been handling the responsibilities of Chief Proctor since then.
