DU UG Admission 2024: First Allocation List Out; 97,387 Candidates Offered Seats

DU UG CSAS 2024 First Allotment List Released; Accept Seat By August 20

DU UG Admissions 2024-25: Delhi University has released the first allocation list for undergraduate admissions for the 2024-25 academic year. In the 1st round of the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS), 97,387 candidates have been offered a variety of program and college combinations.

To allocate the 71,600 sanctioned seats, the university assessed 5,682,017 unique cutoffs a ranks, as stated in the official release. Among the 245,287 candidates who applied for Phase 1 of CSAS-UG, 185,543 completed Phase 2 by submitting their preferences for programs and colleges. This process resulted in a total of 17,218,187 preferences.

This year, a new feature has been added to the candidate dashboard, enabling users to view cutoff details and ranks according to their category and quota. Delhi University will provide information on the common rank, cutoff rank, program-specific CUET score, and cutoff score for all applied programs. Admissions will be determined based on the Common Rank, so meeting the cutoff score alone does not ensure admission. Moreover, candidates with identical CUET scores may receive different ranks due to revised tie-breaking rules.

Ranks will not be assigned for performance-based programs (such as B.A. (Hons) Music, BSC (PE, HE&S), BFA) and certain supernumerary quotas (including Sports, ECA, CW, and Ward).

The revised tie-breaking rules are as follows:

DU Admissions 2024 Live: Tie-breaking Rules

Rule 1 – Best 3 Subjects

In cases where two or more candidates have the same CUET(UG) 2024 merit score, DU will first use the percentage of aggregate marks in the Best 3 subjects of Class XII as a tie-breaking criterion. This ensures a fair ranking system.

Tie-breaking Rule 2 – Best 4 Subjects

If a tie persists after considering the Best 3 subjects, DU will then use the aggregate marks in the Best 4 subjects of Class XII to determine the rank. This step further refines the allocation process.

Tie-breaking Rule 3 – Best 5 Subjects

As a third step in tie-breaking, DU will consider the percentage of aggregate marks in the Best 5 subjects of Class XII. This provides another layer of distinction among candidates with the same merit score.

Tie-breaking Rule 4 – Age Factor

If a tie still exists after considering academic scores, DU will give preference to the candidate with an earlier date of birth. This age-based criterion serves as a final measure in the ranking process.

Tie-breaking Rule 5 – Alphabetical Order

As a last resort, if all other tie-breaking criteria fail, DU will determine the rank based on the alphabetical order of candidates’ names. This ensures a clear and decisive allocation in all cases.

Shortlisted candidates are advised to log in to their dashboard to accept their allocation by 4:59 pm on August 18 and submit their fees by 4:59 pm on August 21, 2024. Only candidates who complete the payment will be eligible for "upgrade" options in subsequent rounds. It is important for candidates to regularly check the university admission website for updates.
