CLAT 2025: Registration Begins, Exam in December, Check Exam Date and Other Details

CLAT 2025: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has begun registrations for the CLAT 2025 exam from July 15, 2024. As per the CLAT 2024 Application Form Schedule, the last date to register for the CLAT 2025 is October 15, 2024. The date and time of the CLAT 2025 is set for Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Candidates in the PwD category have been granted a time extension; their timings for the exam are from 2:00 PM to 4:40 PM. The CLAT 2025 will take place in more than 133 exam centres across India, in pen and paper (offline) mode. There will be 120 objective-type questions in the entire CLAT 2025.

The CLAT 2025 notification is out on the official website, www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in. For general category candidates, the application cost is Rs. 4,000; for candidates from lower castes, such as SC, ST, and BPL category candidates, it is Rs. 3,500. Subjects like legal aptitude, current affairs, general knowledge, English, arithmetic, and logical reasoning are included in the CLAT 2025 exam for UG candidates, and LLB subjects are included for PG candidates. Twenty-four national law universities (NLUs) accept the Common Law Admission Test as their entrance exam.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) administers the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national admission examination. For entrance to the one-year LLM (PG) and five-year integrated LLB (UG) programs, this exam is administered once a year. The exam is designed to grant admission to 21 NLUs for postgraduate studies and 24 NLUs for undergraduate degrees. Every year, the exam is administered offline using a pen and paper. Subjects or topics covering legal aptitude, current events, general knowledge, English, math, and logical thinking are included in the CLAT Exam.


The candidate’s CLAT results determine their admission to one of the National Law Universities (NLUs). However, there are other universities beyond NLU that also accept applications based on a candidate’s CLAT results- (a) 61 other private affiliate colleges and (b) Some public organizations such as ONGC and BHEL.

CLAT 2025: Educational Qualification Required for UG Program

In order to register for the CLAT 2025 and want to get admitted to the Undergraduate programme (Five Year Integrated Law Degree) in National Law Universities (NLUs), candidates will require the below educational qualifications:

Candidates must have cleared 1+2 examinations with the minimum of:

45% on both exams from a reputable board, or a grade that is comparable.

Candidates from lower castes (SC, ST, and PwD) must receive 40% of the possible points in both exams.

Note: Candidates may register for CLAT 2025 if they are taking the qualifying exam in March or April of that year.

CLAT 2025: Educational Qualification Required for PG Program

In order to register for the CLAT 2025 and get admitted to the Postgraduate Programme (One-year LL.M Degree) in National Law Universities (NLUs), candidates will require the below educational qualifications:

Candidates should possess an LLB Degree or Equivalent Degree from a well-recognized institution with a minimum of:

50% in the LL.B. or a comparable test.

Candidates from lower castes must receive a minimum of 45% of the possible points (SC/ST/PwD).

Note: Candidates may register for CLAT 2025 if they are taking the qualifying exam in March or April of that year.

Candidates will be required to some amount as registration fees to register for the CLAT 2025 examination:

The registration fees for the candidates belonging to the General category: Rs. 4,000/-

The registration fees for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PvD/BPL category: Rs. 3500/-

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the CLAT 2025 registration link.

Step 3: Fill in the application form by providing the required details.

Step 4: After completing the registration process, log in to your respective account by entering the login credentials.

Step 5: At last pay the application fees.

Step 6: Check the filled details once, if any mistakes then correct them.

Step 7: Click the Submit button.

Step 8: The confirmation page will appear on the screen, download it.

Step 9: Save the copy of the filled application form and also keep a hard copy for the same for future reference.
