UP BJP Chief Meets PM Modi Amid Speculations of Rift Between Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Maurya

Amid rising speculation of a rift between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya, UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. This meeting comes amidst talks of a potential organizational overhaul in Uttar Pradesh following the BJP's unexpected setback in the recent Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Sources from PTI indicate that Chaudhary briefed PM Modi on various organizational challenges facing the party in this vital state.

Just a day before, Chaudhary and Maurya had a meeting with BJP president JP Nadda. These discussions occurred in the wake of Maurya's recent statement at a party event, where he emphasized that "the organization is always bigger than the government, and no one can be bigger than the organization." This remark, made in the presence of Yogi Adityanath and JP Nadda, has intensified rumors of internal discord.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attributed the party's electoral losses to overconfidence. In a move that further stirred the pot, Maurya reiterated his stance on social media platform X, underscoring that "the organization is bigger than the government" and expressing his commitment to the party workers.

The BJP's top brass is reportedly keeping a close watch on the situation, with plans for a significant organizational reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh expected soon. This is seen as a strategic move to gear up for the forthcoming assembly by-elections in ten UP constituencies.

In response to opposition taunts, Maurya affirmed that the BJP remains robust at both state and national levels, confidently projecting a victory in the 2027 UP assembly elections. This came as a rebuttal to Akhilesh Yadav's comments about internal strife within the BJP.

Yadav had accused the BJP of prioritizing internal power struggles over governance and public welfare in UP, claiming that the party was mired in conflicts. Maurya dismissed these allegations, reaffirming the BJP's organizational strength and readiness to triumph in future electoral battles.
