Six-Foot Snake Causes Chaos in Allahabad University Chemistry Lab

A six feet long rat snake was seen in the laboratory of the Chemistry Department of Allahabad University (AU) on Thursday. This snake was hiding among the equipment. On seeing it, there was panic among the students in the laboratory. This information was immediately given to former head of the Botany Department, Prof. NB Singh.

He reached the laboratory and caught the snake. According to Prof. Singh, this snake is not poisonous. This snake is the fastest runner and rats are its favourite food, hence it is also called the friend of farmers.

इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय (इविवि) के रसायन विज्ञान विभाग में प्रयोगशाला में बृहस्पतिवार को छह फीट लंबा धामिन सांप (रैट स्नेक) देखा गया। यह सांप उपकरणाें के बीच छिपा बैठा था। इसे देखते ही प्रयोगशाला में छात्रों के बीच अफरातफरी मच गई। इसकी सूचना तुरंत वनस्पति विज्ञान के पूर्व विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो. एनबी सिंह को दी गई।

उन्होंने प्रयोगशाला में पहुंचकर सांप को पकड़ लिया। प्रो. सिंह के मुताबिक यह सांप जहरीला नहीं होता है। यह सांप सबसे तेज दौड़ने वाला है और चूहा इसका प्रिय भोजन है, इसलिए इसे किसानों का मित्र भी कहा जाता है।
