About the Job:

MLP is looking for a Senior Associate Advocate who will bring energy, motivation, and expertise to their team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Intellectual Property Rights and be prepared to handle a range of responsibilities related to trademarks and other IP matters. The position is based in West Delhi, with convenient access to nearby metro stations such as Ramesh Nagar, Rajouri Garden, and Kirti Nagar.

Eligibility:

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Professional Qualification: LLB (3 years or 5 years) or LLM.

- Post-Qualification Experience (PQE): 2-3 years.

- Residency Requirement: Must reside within 8-10 km of the MLP office, ensuring ease of commute and accessibility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Associate Advocate will have a diverse range of responsibilities, which include:

1. Conducting Trademark Searches and Providing Legal Opinions: The candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive trademark searches and providing expert legal opinions to clients.

2. Managing and Maintaining IP Filings: This includes handling the renewals and prosecution of trademark applications, ensuring that all filings are up-to-date and accurate.

3. Client Trademark Portfolios: The role involves preparing, maintaining, and updating client trademark portfolios, providing clients with strategic advice on their IP assets.

4. Handling Client Queries: The candidate will address client queries regarding IP practices in India and draft detailed legal opinions to guide them.

5. Legal Documentation: Preparing various legal documents such as notices of opposition, counter-statements, evidence in support of replies, rectification notices, and rejoinders.

6. Attending Show Cause Hearings: Representing clients at show cause hearings at the Trademark Registry.
