CUET UG 2024: Rs 6000 to 8000 fee is being paid for objection on the answer key, 80% of the answer key answers are wrong, students are worried

The National Testing Agency had conducted the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) for admission in Central Universities. After the test, NTA had uploaded model answers of different subjects on the website and sought objections from the candidates. There are many types of errors in the model answers. In this, answers to more than half of the questions in many subjects are wrong. In this, the most errors have been. found in the questions of Biology, English, Physics, Psychology, Economics, Legal Studies.

Students of all these subjects are upset. To object on different subjects, the student has to spend six to eight thousand rupees. If 30 to 35 answers are wrong in each paper, then how many questions will they object to in the answer key, because 200 rupees have to be paid to object on one question. Vaibhav, Rakesh, Amit of Patna told that more than half of the questions in Physics have been answered wrongly. Objection has been lodged on this. A parent has paid a fee of Rs 6800 for 34 questions of Psychology subject. Many teachers of Patna say that 35 to 36 questions of other computer based tests including Mass Media are also wrong. Questions have also been asked from the chapters removed in Physics and Chemistry. Rakesh of Lakhisarai, after checking the provisional model answer, claimed that 80 answers are wrong. NTA has said. that some students have raised objections regarding CUET UG 2024. The committee is investigating the students who have sent their objections to NTA till June 30. The students or centers whose problems are found to be correct in the investigation will get a chance to appear for the exam again between July 15 and 19.

This is kind of a mess...

A question in the Legal Studies paper asked under which Article of the Constitution did the Government of India enact the Environment Protection Act, 1986 in the wake of the Bhopal gas tragedy. The correct answer according to NCERT books would be 253 (option four on the question paper). However, according to the answer key, the correct option is Article 38 (option 2 on the question paper). Similarly, in the Computer Science paper, the answer to the full form of ARPANET, which is Advanced Research Projects Agency Network according to the books, has been marked as Automated Research Practical Application Network in the answer key.

Bishal, a candidate, wrote on X, “When I checked my GEOGRAPHY OMR sheet with the CUET(UG) answer key. I am shocked because 80% of the answer key was wrong. When I calculated the number with the wrong answer key that NTA provides, I only got 26 but in reality, I will get 122. Where my 17 questions are correct,”

A candidate, Rishabh, wrote on X “Sir I found multiple errors in the cuet ug answer key and know if I challenge all errors (that I think those are errors ) the cost of challenging is much more than my CUET application,”

One another candidate, Karishma wrote on the same platform, “Just checked my CUET UG 2024 Answer Key for Mass media. A question to NTA do you make your answer keys while sleeping? The entire mass media answer key except for a few questions is wrong. What are you doing?”

Congress spoke person, Ragini Nayak said on Twitter, and shared a screenshot of a Psychology paper that posed the question; “What is it called when an accident happens on a road and many people gather at a place?” She noted, “The correct answer according to the NCERT book is ‘crowd,’ but the NTA’s answer key lists it as ‘audience.’ This discrepancy leaves students in a difficult situation.”

NTA has said that

“Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by a panel of subject experts. If the challenge of any candidate is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Key, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge,”
