CUET UG 2024: Answer Key: Six Answer Keys Found Wrong; NTA Criticized for Negligence
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is now embroiled in a controversy over the provisional answer key of CUET-UG 2024. Students claim that more than half of the answers for more than six papers in the provisional answer key of CUET-UG, 2024 released on Sunday are wrong.
Big negligence of NTA, mistakes in answers of Psychology, Legal Studies, Economics, Physics English, Biology
The biggest problem is in the questions of Psychology, Legal Studies, Economics, English and Biology papers. Now the students are worried that when 35 to 36 questions of each paper are wrong then how many questions should they challenge. Because to challenge one question they will have to pay Rs. 200.
NTA has said that some students have raised objections regarding CUET UG 2024. The committee is investigating the students who have sent their objections to NTA by June 30. Students whose problems are found correct in the committee investigation will get a chance to take the exam again between July 15 and 19.
This re-examination will be computer based. Students say that setting a deadline of June 30 for re-examination is absolutely wrong. Because the problems are coming to the fore now. Therefore, all the students demanding re-examination should get a chance.
A parent deposited Rs 6800 for 34 questions
A parent has written to NTA that after seeing the answer key of Psychology, his daughter has paid a fee of Rs 6800 for 34 questions. 35 to 36 questions of other computer-based exams including mass media are also wrong. Questions have been asked from the deleted chapters in Physics and Chemistry. Candidates Sahil and Muskan of DPS Anantnag Center have written that the General Test paper started late, but no one is listening. They did not get full time in the exam. While they are demanding to take the exam again.
Such irregularities
For example, a question has been asked in the Legal Studies paper that under which article of the Constitution did the Government of India implement the Environmental Protection Act of 1986 in view of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. According to NCERT books, the correct answer would be Article 253 (option 4 of the question paper). However, the correct option as per the provisional answer key is paragraph 38 (option 2 on the question paper).
Similarly, in the Computer Science paper, the answer to the full form of ARPANET, which is Advanced Research Projects Agency Network as per the books, has been marked as Automated Research Practical Application Network in the answer key.
Point out the error, experts will correct it and prepare the final answer key
The provisional answer key of CUET UG 2024 has been released for the students so that they can point out any kind of error. After this, the experts will check these errors and release the final answer key. This has been happening for years, students can challenge NTA for the answer by paying the fee. -Professor M Jagadeesh Kumar, Chairman, UGC.
