Allahabad University: Iswar Saran Degree College to Increase BALLB Seats and Offer LLM Program
There is good news for those studying law. Iswar Saran Degree College will start one more section of BA-LLB (Law Fifth Year) from the academic session 2025-26. That means admission will be taken on 60 more seats. For the first time, LLM studies will also start from this year. For this, the college administration is getting the construction work of a new building done.
Iswar Saran Degree College sent proposal to Bar Council for permission
Ishwar Saran Degree College has proposed to the Bar Council of India (BCI) to increase seats for its BA LLB program and to introduce an LLM program. If approved, the college will add 60 new seats to its BA LLB course from the academic session 2025-26. Additionally, the college aims to commence the LLM program in the same session.

Currently, the college hosts students from 16 states, with 439 students enrolled in its BA LLB program. Established in 1970, the college offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. At present, the institution runs 8 undergraduate programs and 9 postgraduate programs across various disciplines, including Ancient History, English, Sociology, Political Science, and Commerce. The introduction of these new law seats will further enhance its educational offerings.
Dr. Anand Shankar Singh, the principal of Iswar Saran Degree College, has confirmed the submission of the proposal to the BCI and is optimistic about receiving approval. The college is dedicated to expanding its academic infrastructure to accommodate the additional students and provide quality legal education.

The BA LLB program at the college is already renowned for its comprehensive curriculum and experienced faculty. The proposed LLM program will add another dimension to the college’s law education, catering to the growing demand for advanced legal studies.

About the Department
Iswar Saran P G Degree College, a constituent college of University of Allahabad, established Centre for Legal Education in 2019, to conduct the B.A LLB (HONS): FIVE YEAR INTEGRATED COURSE duly recognized by the Bar Council of India to accomplish the noble objective of nurturing talented, righteous and committed lawyers. The event coincided with the auspicious occasion of 50th Golden Jubilee Year of the college. Presently the college has been sanctioned 60 seats for the academic session 2019-20 and 75 seats for the academic session 2020-21.
